Fans are bowled over by cricket legend Ricky Ponting’s five-year-old son after he shows off his remarkable batting talent on Instagram

The son of an Aussie cricket legend is set to follow in his talented father’s footsteps.
Ricky Ponting, the former cricket captain of Australia, shared videos and pictures of his five-year-old son Fletcher batting on Wednesday.
The pictures were uploaded to Ponting’s new Instagram and Twitter accounts, where he featured his son’s talent as the first posts.

The adorable pictures showed the cricket coach suiting up his son with a bat and gloves with the caption: ‘A day of firsts; finally on social media and the first net with my son Fletcher.’
The five-year-old also showed off his batting skills in the Instagram video, where Ponting bowled several tennis balls and Fletcher sent them flying.
Within an hour of uploading the posts Ponting’s accounts gained almost over 3700 and 1300 followers respectively.
One member of British pop band Bastille, Chris ‘Woody’ Wood, was impressed with Fletcher’s skills.
‘Thats the Ashes going to Aussie in 20 years time then. Not a bad batting coach to grow up with!’ he said.
Other commenters were quick to pick up on the young boy’s cricket talent. One said: ‘Definitely a hitter.’
Another fan observed Fletcher’s technique and said: ‘Likes going the ‘aerial’ route the young fella!’
Ponting, who is also a cricket commentator, was considered one of the greatest batsmen of all time and led the Australian cricket team during the ‘golden era’.
Between 2002 and 2011 his team scored 219 victories, including the Ashes and the Cricket World Cup.
