Rita told the 40,000-strong crowd ahead of her performance: ‘I’m going to say something which is really, really special because it’s going to be hard for me to sing this next song and I’ll tell you why.

‘I had the honour of collaborating with somebody who changed my life and he’s a really good friend of mine and I heard some DJ’s playing some of his music earlier.

‘I haven’t sang his song that we did together, ever since he passed away- until today.

Clad in a black and gold glitter striped tracksuit, the singer flashed her washboard abs and plenty of underboob during the high-octane show.

The This Is How We Do star slicked her hair back into a high ponytail and accentuated her glowing complexion with a slick of black eyeliner and nude lip.

‘Condolences to Avicii’s family, friends, and the fans who supported him. May he rest in peace. Gone too soon. I’m devastated. Heartbroken.’

Following the news of his death last Friday, Rita put her heartache to one-side as she attended the Blondey McCoy and Arena Homme + launch, shortly after she paid tribute to the star on social media.

However, shortly after the event, Rita looked downcast as she dined at London’s Scott’s Restaurant in Mayfair.

The body of the Swedish-born producer, who is known for his EDM hits Wake Me Up, Levels and Hey Brother, was found in Oman, a publicist confirmed.

The cause of Avicii’s death is not yet known.

Avicii, born Tim Bergling, quit touring in 2016 due to battles with his health, suffering from acute pancreatitis and had to have his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014.
