Riyad Mahrez’s wife Taylor Ward gave their baby three of her designer bags worth over £10,000 to play with – after moaning about struggling to ‘escape’ football.
The WAG, 26, who’s the daughter of Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn and former Premier League player Ashley, gave her daughter Mila, 19 months, the luxury items to keep her occupied during the first episode of new Prime Video series Married to the Game.
After retrieving a large classic Chanel handbag, which costs a minimum £9,240, as well as a Louis Vuitton number, from her walk-in wardrobe, Taylor told her one-year-old: ‘You love to play with a bag so we can put these on the floor and you can play with them.’
The clip features in the first episode of the new six-part show, which is available to watch on Friday, February 23, and follows the lives of top footballers Ilkay Gündoğan, Jorginho, Matt Turner, and Riyad, as well as their respective partners.
Taylor has spoken about the ‘brutal’ side of being married to a Premier League player, saying she is forced to live her life with ‘literally no warning’ after she moved from Cheshire to Saudi Arabia when husband Riyad secured a £30million transfer.

She said: ‘I literally can’t escape it… I genuinely do feel like I’m married to the game.’
After being told of her husband’s move from Man City to Al-Ahli, Taylor complained: ‘I’m going to be sat at home on my own’ before her husband replied, ‘It’s part of the game init.’
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Taylor explained: ‘It was a huge shock and I had absolutely no idea. One day we were planning for Riyad to go back to pre-season with City and then overnight we were moving to Saudi and I was planning this whole move.
‘It was just very overwhelming at the time and a massive shock because I just didn’t see it coming at all. That scene with Riyad – that is just him to a tee. He is just straight talking and to the point. He is very much just like, ‘It is what it is, you’ve got to get over it now’, whereas I’m more emotional.
‘That’s why we work because I’m a bit of a flapper in those situations and he’s very on the ball and just gets on with it.’
Taylor and Riyad married in January 2022 and welcomed daughter Mila the following July.
The football series follows the family of three as they settle into life in Saudi Arabia, with Taylor saying she was relieved when she saw a Nando’s because it reminded her of home.
She said: ‘There’s obviously no alcohol so I won’t be having a glass of wine! To be honest, there’s more there than I originally thought. When I went on my first trip, I saw a Nando’s. I was just like ‘I’m so happy they’ve got Nando’s.’

‘The vibe is just very different. It’s a lot more chilled out there, it’s quieter and calmer, whereas in Manchester life is so busy… there’s so much going on and we’re always going out for dinner and seeing friends. That’s probably what I’m missing the most, seeing family and friends rather than what the country is missing.
‘The people have been so lovely… I think that was actually a massive shock, how nice everyone has been. You can’t compare it to the UK… it’s nothing like here. I’m enjoying it so far, it just feels like I’m on holiday, I don’t feel like I’ve moved there yet.’
MailOnline also spoke to Arsenal WAG Cat Harding, who’s engaged to marry Jorginho, and also stars in Married to the Game.
She shared Taylor’s view that being a wife or girlfriend of a footballer isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, revealing she struggles with Jorginho’s low mood when he loses a game.
Cat said: ‘It changes a lot of things… your whole life revolves around the schedule of your partner but to another level because it’s not a normal schedule where you can plan. Everything has to be planned around what’s going on with them.
‘You can’t plan anything in advance unless it is in June. I am planning my wedding for next summer because J could possibly be in the Euros this year again so it will be next year.
‘Even certain things like we have often had dinner planned with friends and if they lose a game, we have to cancel and I feel the worst but there’s no way you can go out with someone… after J has finished a game and they lost, there is no way I can talk to him for 24 hours. He is not in the mood.’
