Road rager pulls bow from his car and shoots it at driver

A furious Melbourne motorist has been caught on camera charging across a road with a drawn bow and arrow during an intense road rage confrontation.

A notably angered male driver pulled the weapon from his parked sedan after allegedly becoming involved in a dispute with another driver.

The alarming incident was captured in footage by 3AW listener, Sharyn Bertram, who watched in horror as the man loaded his firearm and pointed it at the vehicle behind her.

‘He put the arrow in the bow and he sort of aimed it and ran across sort of behind my car to shoot it at the car that was coming back in the opposite direction,’ Ms Bertram told Neil Mitchell.

‘I threw my phone down because I was afraid that he would see me.’

The concerned bystander contacted police and returned to the area about 10 minutes later to find detectives and the dog squad scoping the scene.

‘There was another lady there later and she said she saw the man shoot the bow at the car,’ she recalled.

‘The arrow was on the road when I came back and the police had the bow because he had thrown that in the bushes.’

The bizarre event unfolded in the eastern suburb of Wantirna South about 2.30 in the afternoon on October 26.

Ms Bertram believed the perpetrator had escaped in his vehicle before officers could catch him. 

Police are still searching for the man and have described him to be slim and of medium height.
