The brother of Power Rangers star Pua Magasiva who died in a suspected suicide a month after he was sentenced for abusing his wife has broken his silence.

Pua reportedly took his life on May 11 – the same night he assaulted his wife Lizz and left her in hospital.

The New Zealand actor had been convicted of her assault two weeks before his death.

The Instagram post featured an image of Pua with the words: ‘Sometimes the hardest thing to do is nothing. Rest now Pua’.

This is Robbie’s first comment about his brother since the suppression order on his brother’s name lapsed on December 18.

He had previously been vocal about his brother’s death before it came to light about his assault charge for attacking his wife.

Robbie told Woman’s Day in July his family’s life would never been the same after Pua’s death.

‘I had this f***ing weird dream. I was at my brother Miki’s house and Pua walked through the door. I looked at him and said, “F***, you’re alive!” I hugged and held him for ages and ages,’ Robbie said.

‘I just wanted to cuddle him. I let go and it was definitely Pua and he looked at me and walked past – then Tanu said, “That’s not Pua, it’s Steve.” I woke up and cried. Tanu said he’s had the same dream.’

Robbie said growing up Pua was his responsibility.

He also got a tattoo of a hibiscus flower with the words ‘Miss you Poos’.

Mrs Magasiva said her husband – who she married in April 2018 following an 18-month romance after meeting on Instagram – silenced her as he didn’t want to impact his acting career.

‘The reality I was facing was it could’ve been me who died that night,’ she told the Weekend Herald.

‘I was hazy but managed to run into the bathroom. He was still chasing me and punching me. I went into the shower but the blood just poured out.’

In a heart-wrenching letter sent to the court by her father Ronald Sadler, he described the trauma of not knowing if the next phone call was going to be about his beloved daughter’s death, according to the New Zealand Herald.

After thinking she had finally found happiness with the actor, he later discovered his daughter was suffering from terrible violence – but she assured him Magasiva was getting counselling.

He also feared Magasiva could get angry and block him from seeing his daughter and granddaughter.

Mr Sadler said his daughter was putting on ‘brave face’ despite facing a difficult and frightening situation.

The worried father said the actor had smashed her phones and punched holes in walls and doors.
