Back on screens: Rodger Corser to guest star in the comedy-drama series Five Bedrooms after wrapping Doctor Doctor

After Channel Nine axed Doctor Doctor after five seasons, actor Rodger Corser will grace our TV screens once again.

The 48-year-old will make a guest appearance in the comedy-drama series Five Bedrooms, reports The Daily Telegraph.

It marks his first acting role since Doctor Doctor wrapped in late June.

Comeback: After Channel Nine axed Doctor Doctor after five seasons, actor Rodger Corser will grace our TV screens once again in the comedy-drama series Five Bedrooms

Five Bedrooms focuses on a group of five friends, at different points in their lives, who decide to buy a five-bedroom property together.

Rodger will play Stuart, the ex-husband of Kat Stewart’s character Liz Wendell.

He is set to appear in the second season of the show, after his character was mentioned numerous times in the first season.

‘The character was in name only in series one so he is the reason why Liz is a 40-year-old woman flatting with mates because they talk about this husband who ran off with the fortune and ruined her life,’ Rodger said.

Rodger admitted that when the show’s creator, Michael Lucas, thought of who could play a ‘philanderer’, he was the first person to spring to mind because of his playboy character on Doctor Doctor.

He was initially set to appear in the first episode only, but plans changed after production on Five Bedrooms was shut down in early 2020 due to coronavirus.

With half the season still left to shoot and actors’ availabilities changing, the producers and showrunner decided to expand Rodger’s role.
