Romesh Ranganathan has never been busier — and business is booming.

The company, which is run by Romesh, 44, recently made its first show: a sitcom called Avoidance for the BBC.

He said: ‘Obviously it’s great to have your show made by your own production company.

‘But I was conscious that if the food was s*** one day and everyone is moaning about it, it’s very difficult to join in — because you’re partly responsible!’

The comic was previously a maths teacher and head of sixth form at Hazelwick school in Crawley, where he had also been a pupil.

It was there he met his wife Leesa, a fellow teacher, who he has hailed ‘the most laid-back person’.

He previously told the Guardian that his wife was ‘really chilled’ when he missed the birth of the couple’s third child.

Leesa was admitted to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary during The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2014 where Romesh was appearing to perform stand-up, and gave birth to their son Charlie.

Romesh said: ‘She was being really chilled out about it – she’s the most laid-back woman in the world. I panic a lot more than she does.’

The former maths teacher revealed that he told the audience at his show that his wife had given birth to his son – but didn’t think the crowd believed him.

He added: ‘I was pretty convinced the audience thought I was making it up.’
