Romesh Ranganathan strips off for awkward Naked News interview

He’s known for his deadpan delivery, but comedian Romesh Ranganathan was lost for words during an appearance on Naked News.

In keeping with the Canadian programme’s tradition of featuring naked women reading news bulletins and interviewing guests, Romesh disrobed for an awkward chat with presenter Carli Bei about stand-up comedy, his hatred of Iggy Azalea and his popular heritage show, Asian Provocateur.

Protecting his modesty with a hat, the 40-year old looked far from comfortable while sat alongside Bei, who asked him if he enjoyed being interviewed while naked.

‘No, this will definitely be the last time,’ he told her.

Bei, who stripped down to a pair of sparkly embellished stilettos for the interview, later claimed to enjoy it when people complained about the show’s use of nudity.

‘I imagine people watching are offended by my boobs,’ she told the incredulous comedian, who looked on as she pointed at her exposed breasts.

Meanwhile Romesh looks set to face an awkward reunion with League Of Their Own host James Corden, 39, when he joins the show later this year, after describing the presenter as ‘less interesting than stools’ on Twitter in 2011.

In the newly-resurfaced tweets, the comedian lashed out at Corden’s hosting skills, and a source close to the pair has since told The Sun their reunion is set to be ‘really tense’.

Romesh appeared to slam James in a post shared following his stint hosting the 2011 BRIT Awards, writing: ‘I’ve passed stools more interesting than James Corden’s presenting tonight. And I’m vegetarian.’

Another post showed Romesh lauding presenter Dermot O’Leary for being a better presenter than James, saying: ‘O’ Leary just took Corden to school. Presenting school. Boom!’

It is believed that James was unaware of the tweets – one of which had been deleted – until recently, despite Romesh having previously made guest appearance on A League Of Their Own before landing a permanent job on the panel.

A source said: ‘The first time James and Romesh see each other is bound to be awkward.

‘James invited Romesh onto his US chat show and exposed him to millions of potential new fans, and now they’re going to have to sit next to each other on League after he s*****d him off. It could be really tense.’
