Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed the current Liverpool team remind him of how Real Madrid played a few years ago.

But Ronaldo says their front line of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane is reminiscent of Real teams from seasons gone by.

‘Liverpool remind me of the Real Madrid team of a few years ago, with three quick forwards up front,’ he said on Tuesday.

‘Finals are always special, it doesn’t matter which team you face. I don’t think it will be easy though, they have qualified on merit.’

Ronaldo and Co trained on Tuesday as their gameweek preparations began in earnest ahead of Saturday’s showdown.

Former Los Blancos boss Vicente del Bosque claimed no Liverpool player would make it into Zinedine Zidane’s side and the Portuguese forward agrees his side are deservedly favourites.

‘I think Real Madrid are a better team, but we have to demonstrate this in the match.’

He added: ‘I want to feel good on Saturday, I hope to play well and score goals… the most important thing is for the team to win, it doesn’t matter who scores. We want to make history.’
