Ronaldo Mulitalo soars high to score INCREDIBLE try as Cronulla clinch dramatic golden point win after Latrell Mitchell missed THREE chances to seal victory for South Sydney

  • Ronaldo Mulitalo took an incredible catch to score against South Sydney
  • The 22-year-old winger soared high to take a crossfield kick on Saturday
  • Cronulla and Souths are squaring up in a battle between top eight contenders

In a nip-and-tuck first half with very little to separate either side, Ronaldo Mulitalo executed a piece of individual brilliance to give Cronulla the edge at PointsBet Stadium.

Reeling in an eight-point deficit after a flying start to the match by South Sydney, Mulitalo soared high into the air to take a stunning grab before keeping his cool to score and put his side ahead at the break.

With the Sharks making inroads just in front of the try line, Nicholas Hynes spotted the big man on the opposite touchline, booted a crossfield kick towards Mulitalo and he superbly beat off two rivals to win the footy.

Better still, the 22-year-old didn’t even use another player to get more height on his jump in what Greg Alexander labelled a great show of athleticism.

‘Absolutely spectacular, this was,’ he said at half time.

‘You thought he would climb over the back of the South Sydney players but he didn’t do that, he just got incredibly high. That is athleticism at its best.’

It remains all to play for, however, with Latrell Mitchell scoring early in the second half to tie the game up.
