AFL superstar Rory Sloane has announced the birth of a healthy baby boy.  

‘Sonny Leo Sloane. Welcome to the world,’ Sloane’s wife Belinda posted on Instagram on Tuesday.

The Adelaide Crows champion added: ‘Welcome to this world my little man.’

Fellow AFL stars took to Instagram to congratulate the couple on the birth of their son.

Geelong Cats star Patrick Dangerfield, Brisbane Lions player Lachie Neal and fellow Adelaide star Taylor Walker all expressed their well wishes. 

Sonny was born on September 16, according to Adelaide Football Club. 

The news of their new child comes a year after they tragically lost their son Leo was delivered stillborn. 

Sloane took to Instagram last year to announce the devastating news.  

‘Last week we said goodbye to our beautiful little man. Leo Rory Sloane was born into the world still, but perfect,’ he said. 

‘Thanks for making us the proudest parents and filling our hearts with love beyond measure. 

‘The moments we had with you are now beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.’  

He had withdrawn from the round 23 game and the Crows wore black armbands in solidarity with Sloane and his wife.
