Rose McGowan was hailed a ‘trouper’ by Question Time viewers and host Fiona Bruce last night as the actress appeared on the BBC show a day after breaking her wrist.
The Death Proof actress, 47, was a member of the panel on the current affairs programme, alongside Oliver Dowden MP, Lisa Nandy MP, mathematician Hannah Fry and businessman Simon Wolfson.
Hours earlier Italy-born Rose shared a photo of her lying in a Mexican hospital with her left arm in a cast to her Instagram page.
She explained that her injury was related to the ongoing United States 2020 election, writing in the caption: ‘Reading US election results while on the stairs = bone break.’

She added: ‘It cost $250 in Mexico for my emergency room visit, compared to a likely 10K hospital bill in California for the same accident.
‘USA is not the land of the free, it’s the land of the overcharged. #bigpharma #usa #mexico OUCH.’
Viewers were impressed she still managed to make the TV appearance, with many taking to social media to praise her mettle.
One tweeted: ‘Just saw you on Question time you trouper, and loved Pearl’s guest appearance.’
Another wrote: ‘Rose, it was wonderful seeing you look so well on Question Time, even with a broken wrist. Heal fast and feel the love being sent to you.’

Rose, who broke a bone while reading the US Election updates on her phone, was branded a trouper by Question Time host Fiona Bruce
‘Rose, honestly I had preconceived views on you before your appearance on #bbcqt I was wrong! What well balanced opinions you put across. This is not to be condescending. Respect,’ praised another, while one claimed: ‘Rose McGowan seems to be the only person on here tonight who gets it.’
Speaking about the US election, Rose said she is ‘in no man’s land’ as she ‘used to be a Democrat’ but isn’t a Republican.
Asked whether the fact Donald Trump has gained more votes than he did in 2016 shows that his message resonates with more of the American people, she said: ‘I grew up in a very unusual way in Italy in what they call a cult. And what I’ve seen now on both sides is just that, one side thinks the other’s a cult, the other side thinks the other’s a cult, and the answer is that it’s both.’
She claimed she has been cancelled ‘many times’ by the ‘cancel culture on the Left’, adding: ‘Just by not saying bad things, just by thinking a certain way, doesn’t make it that you’ve actually accomplished anything.

‘The party line when I was a democrat that I was always fed was, “We could accomplish so much if the Republicans wouldn’t stop us.”
‘I was a lobbyist in DC, I saw behind the scenes, a lot of people are incredibly similar and incredibly tight, the Left and the Right… Donald Trump, his message is just, this isn’t working. He doesn’t do it well, he doesn’t speak well in my estimation, but he is appealing to people who are tired of being lied to.
‘He lies as well… but in many ways he’s a very transparent liar, when he does lie we can see, whereas the other ones can hide it much better.
‘There’s a lot going down in the US and it needs to happen and it’s very sad, but two sides have been lied to for so long that it’s very hard to see the truth anymore.’
Many viewers claimed the highlight of Rose’s appearance was the cameo appearance her dog Pearl made when the cute pooch appeared behind her to stare out of the window
She later added that she believes there is ‘corruption on both sides’, claiming: ‘I think what people maybe don’t quite get is that American is not a democracy, it’s an oligarchy.
‘It’s run by corporations, and as many Democrats and as many Republicans have been Presidents, really in the last 30 to 40 years it’s gone like, on high in that direction.
‘Do the Democrats hear what people want? Yes. Do they do it? No, because it’s been proven and studied that only if it’s something that the corporations want as well, then it’ll happen.’

Speaking about Covid-19, Rose admitted it ‘broke her heart’ to see so many people in the UK ‘needlessly’ lose their jobs as a result of the ‘cliff edge’ ending of the government furlough scheme – which has since been reinstated.
‘The UK, the public has always been great at pulling together, look at you in World War II, taking the hits for the greater good’ she said. ‘But they have to know what’s up, and double-talk right now from any government’s not cutting it.’
Speaking about her arm break, the Scream star explained that her injury was at least incidentally related to the ongoing United States 2020 election. Seen here back in February
Last month the actress claimed Facebook deactivated her account ahead of the final president debate and that Twitter has been suppressing her posts.
The actress and #MeToo activist made the claims in a Twitter post less that two weeks ago, but did not provide any evidence that her account had been deactivated.
Rose claims the social media giant deactivated her account after she announced she was taking part in a debate response hosted by the Movement for a People’s Party following Thursday night’s presidential debate.
‘Facebook deactivated my account hours after I posted I would have a debate response,’ she tweeted.
‘Twitter suppressing me. Insta/g/YouTube/Google. I’ve been a victim of conspiracies before this one smells like Dems.’

Rose said that she had only received an average of 230 likes on her tweets in 24 hours even though she has one million followers.
She claimed this was evidence that Twitter had been suppressing her.
The Charmed actress went on to say that also received less likes if she posted about Jeffrey Epstein, the Clintons or Joe Biden.
‘This is not about popularity, this is corruption,’ she said. ‘The complicity machine (creeps who couldn’t speak to girls so they changed the way we call communicate) – (Mark) Zuckerberg, (Jack) Dorsey, (Google co-founders Sergey) Brin, (Larry) Page, are (in my opinion) all in on it.
‘How do I get around them? Thoughts? Am I that scary to them?’
Rose said she had been notified by followers that they were unable to access her Facebook page or retweet her posts.

It comes just days after she lashed out at ‘liberal intellectuals’ for rushing to defend New Yorker writer and CNN contributor Jeffrey Toobin amid his masturbation scandal.
Rose led a wave of condemnation aimed at those suggesting the incident was an ‘accident’ after Toobin was caught exposing himself on a work Zoom call.
‘Can you all imagine if a conservative woman was caught masturbating on an meeting like #MeToobin?’ Rose said. ‘If it had been a liberal woman? If it had been a WOC?
‘Do you think there’d be liberal ‘intellectuals’ rising to defend her? She’d be burned at the stake.’
