Roseanne Barr’s son insists she’s ‘not a racist’

Roseanne Barr’s eldest son has once again defend his mother from charges she is racist.

Jake Pentland, 40, posted two videos to his Instagram account on Thursday – two days after The Walt Disney Company canceled his mother’s highly rated ABC sitcom, Roseanne, after she posted racist tweets about a former Obama aide.

He angrily denounced Roseanne’s castmates and the media for their coverage of the controversy.

Pentland said Disney was wrong to cancel the show because it’s been ‘proven that mom had no idea that Valerie [Jarrett] was African American.’

Roseanne lost her show after she posted an incendiary tweet which said Jarrett was the byproduct of ‘Planet of the Apes and the Muslim Brotherhood.’

It took ABC and its parent company Disney just a few hours to cancel the show.

Pentland repeated his mother’s defense that she had no idea Jarrett was black and that ‘Muslims are not a race.’

‘I’ve showed the tweets. I’ve sent screen caps from my texts … which show that Muslims are not a race,’ Pentland said.

‘That’s what happened. That was the tweet she deleted.’

Pentland said that the show’s cancellation was an excessively harsh response to what he called ‘an insensitive a**hole tweet.’

In another video, Pentland sarcastically suggested that he was anticipating phone calls from co-stars Michael Fishman and Sara Gilbert as well as consulting producer Wanda Sykes and the ABC network.

The phone call ‘should be coming in any second now,’ Pentland says as he waits near a telephone.

Pentland demanded that Roseanne’s former colleagues apologize to her for calling her a racist.

Barr’s son has made a number of posts on social media about Jarrett and former President Barack Obama.

‘Remember kids, you can’t say people that look like monkeys that they look like monkeys unless thy (sic) are Ron Perlman cuz he is white,’ Pentland wrote in an Instagram post that included a photo of Obama and Jarrett.

In another Instagram post, Pentland writes that Jarrett ‘looks like she has FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome).’

Pentland, like his mother, makes no secret of his admiration for President Donald Trump.

He is seen in one Instagram post wearing a red ‘Make America Great Again’ beanie.

Pentland also frequently takes jabs at ‘libtards’ – a slur used by conservatives to malign liberals.

Barr was seen for the first time on Thursday since her racist tweet about Jarrett led to the collapse of her multi-million dollar empire.

The disgraced television star was spotted out walking in her native Utah in photos obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com while engaged in an intense phone conversation.

When asked to comment on the recent controversy, Barr simply said: ‘I believe in one law for all people, I love all people have a nice day.’

She was dressed down for the outing in a pair of white spandex shorts and a printed tee, with a pair of leopard-print flip flops rounding out the look.
