Roxy Jacenko accused of using Warner press conference for self promotion

Roxy Jacenko was at client Candice Warner’s side as her husband David offered a tearful apology for his role in the ball tampering scandal on Saturday.

But the PR queen’s appearance has been slammed online, with some Twitter users even accusing Roxy of appearing to use the disgraced Australian vice captain’s press conference for her own self-promotion.

‘O dear not again @roxyjacenko trying to hog the limelight .. no one cares,’ one person wrote.

As David issued a grovelling apology for instructing junior player Cameron Bancroft on how to use sandpaper to tamper with a ball, cameras captured the cricketer’s wife Candice crying in the audience.

Comforting her was Roxy, who represents the former ironwoman at her social media influencer agency the Ministry of Talent.

Viewers took to social media soon afterwards to question why the Sydney PR queen had been present at the sporting scandal.

‘What a PR disaster! Warner’s, in my opinion you must get rid of Roxy Jacenko ASAP!’

‘I am wondering in this photo why Roxy Jacenko look shes been up night crying and just rolled out of bed. I can understand the wife being ever so upset .But your Pr person isn’t supposed to Mirror her clients emotions and look to get the focus on herself, That’s Just WEIRD.’

Others said Roxy’s presence made them question how sincere David’s apology over the ball tampering was.

Roxy is no stranger to scandal herself, having stood by her husband Oliver Curtis’ side as he went to trial and was convicted of insider trading in 2016.

Since Oliver’s release from prison he and Roxy have reunited and plan to marry for a second time.
