Roxy Jacenko confirms she no longer does the PR for Doughnut Time

Roxy Jacenko has confirmed she no longer does the PR for Doughnut Time, with the company changing ownership and closing half its stores. 

The PR queen told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, that she wishes the new owner ‘the best of luck,’ after her friend Damian Griffiths sold off his business to the brand’s former CEO and managing director, Dan Strachotta.

‘Damian Griffiths is a dear friend of mine and I am very sad to have seen what he has gone through after pouring his heart and soul into the Doughnut Time business amongst his other food and bar venues,’ Roxy said in a statement.

One stunt was to hand out inflatable doughnut toys at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach.

Broadsheet reports that Damian has finalised the sale of Doughnut Time to Dan Strachotta. 

The publication reports that almost half the stores of the business are closing and many staff have lost their jobs.  

Damian told the publication he ran out of money and they expanded too fast. 

‘I am accepting the blame, I expanded too quickly,’ he said.

Broadsheet also reports that 35 workers took the company to Fair Work claiming they were owed more than $70,000.

Doughnut Time is now represented by Frank PR, with an announcement being sent out to media outlets on Tuesday.
