Rudy says Mueller’s investigators are trying to ‘frame’ Trump

President Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani accused Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigators of trying to ‘frame’ Trump.

Speaking at the Globes conference in Tel Aviv on a trip to Israel that he said runs a week, the outspoken Trump lawyer said his client hasn’t ‘done anything wrong.’

Giuliani referenced the investigators when he said there are ’13 highly partisan Democrats … (who) are trying very very hard to frame him to get him in trouble when he hasn’t done anything wrong.’

He was picking up a repeated attack by Trump about the political affiliation of many of Mueller’s top investigators. Mueller himself is a Republican.

He said Trump has the power to pardon himself, but won’t because he is innocent.

Giuliani also defended Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a close Trump ally, who is facing corruption charges of his won.

‘The case against Netanyahu is a joke. There’s not a politician in the world that doesn’t do deals with newspapers to get favorable coverage,’ Globes reported. ‘You’re very lucky to have a distinguished prime minister who enjoys relations like these with the US president,’ he added.

Giuliani was speaking to the Globes capital market conference in Tel Aviv.

He stood by his position articulated Sunday that Trump had the power to pardon himself – stating the president’s innocence when asked if the president is ‘above the law.’ He said Sunday it would be ‘unthinkable’ for him to do so.

‘U.S. law states that the president has the authority to pardon people who have committed federal crimes. This was determined by our Founding Fathers. President Clinton pardoned criminals who contributed money to his library and got away scot-free,’ Giuliani said.

‘Trump is innocent. He’s done nothing bad. There are people who are trying very hard to incriminate him because they’re incapable of mentally facing the fact that he is the president, so they’re inventing theories.’

Giuliani said Trump has the ‘right and the duty to fire the FBI director,’ a reference to James Comey and his handling of the Clinton email scandal.

‘Holding a press conference and talking about her investigation was like saying, ‘I won’t file an indictment against you, but you’re a murderer,’ Giuliani said.

Giuliani also made an explosive comment about North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, who is set to meet Trump in a summit in Singapore next week.

Trump announced he was pulling out of the summit, only to put it back on after the North Korean side was surprisingly conciliatory.

‘Well, Kim Jong Un got back on his hands and knees and begged for it, which is exactly the position you want to put him in,’ said Giuliani.
