Rudy takes a break from representing Trump to travel to Israel

President Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani is taking a break from defending the president from Robert Mueller’s investigators to attend a high-level conference in Israel on real estate investment.

Giuliani, the former New York Mayor, is an ‘important guest’ at the ‘Globes’ Capital Market Conference’ in Tel Aviv, which will feature top investors and predictions about which way the U.S. real estate market is going.

The event is billed as one of three ‘market maker’ events, the Hebrew-language Globes reported.

Giuliani is listed as a featured speaker.

Another speaker listed is Eduardo Elsztain, who runs the highest valued Argentine business empire and is a top Jewish investor, and is the controlling shareholder of IDB Group.

Giuliani isn’t known as a major player in real estate, although his boss, President Trump, amassed large holdings in hotels, casinos and branded properties to assemble an empire estimated to be worth 2.8 billion by Forbes.

Chaim Katzman, the controlling shareholder of Gazit Globe, former Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni, and Nadine Baudot-Trajtenberg, the former deputy governor of the Bank of Israel, also are scheduled to appear.

According to the Israeli report, there will be a special session at the meeting on global real estate investment trends, along with forecasts about financial markets and oil and gas markets.

It states that the event will hold discussions about ‘forecasts for the US market, the hottest real estate investment trends, and how the political changes will affect the markets.’

Giuliani has been in regular contact with Trump, who maintains ownership of his family real estate empire, although it is now run by Trump’s two adult sons and an executive.

He says the two keep their discussions to legal matters, although he also said in May there was a ‘good chance’ North Korea would release three Americans being held captive – something that happened soon afterward.

For the last several weeks Giuliani has amped up attacks on special counsel Robert Mueller, amid talks about whether the president will agree to submit to an interviewer with prosecutors.

On Sunday Giuliani told the Huffington Post that Trump could have ‘shot James Comey’ and still not be indicted, due to his team’s interpretation of the Constitution, in reference to the FBI director Trump fired in his first year.

Attendance is listed as invitation only.

On Sunday, Giuliani also called the idea of a presidential self-pardon ‘unthinkable,’ although Trump tweeted Monday he has an ‘absolute right’ to do so.

‘Pardoning himself would be unthinkable and probably lead to immediate impeachment,’ Giuliani told NBC’s ‘Meet the Press.’

‘And he has no need to do it, he’s done nothing wrong,’ Giuliani added.
