Rumours that this will be the last season of Bondi Rescue

It’s the Australian TV family favourite which sees some of the some of the nation’s top lifeguards protect beach-goers in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.

However, on Friday, it was revealed that season 13 of Bondi Rescue may be the last.

With cancellation rumours continuing to swirl, News Corp announced that last week production company Cordell Jigsaw Zapuder (CJZ) sent Waverley Council an internal report which asked for only 10 rather than 13 episodes.

Is this the end? On Friday, it was revealed that season 13 of Australia’s favourite Bondi Rescue may be the last

‘Following changes to ownership and management at Network Ten, the number of episodes requested has been reduced from 13 episodes to 10,’ read an internal report to Waverley Council last week, according to the publication.

‘CJZ would therefore like to film for a reduced period, nine weeks in total.’

But it’s not all over for the show, which began filming its next season last weekend.

And the money will continue to come-in with CJZ set to pay the council a $115,000 licencing fee as well as five per cent of the series’ net profits.

According to the report, an additional $160,000 will also be paid as a salary between the 39 council-employed lifeguards for their ‘promotional services’ regardless if they make an appearance on the hit show or not.

And it’s not just Australian’s who love the six-time Logie winning series, with a fan from Peru taking to Instagram earlier in the week to express her love.

‘I have seen almost all the episodes of Bondi life guards and one day I will go to Bondi beach and take a photo with all of you,’ wrote one dedicated follower.
