Runarsson made 36 Ligue 1 appearances for his club, in which he conceded 61 times.

Arsenal have also been linked with Brentford’s David Raya, who worked under goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana in west London before the Spaniard departed to join Gunners boss Mikel Arteta’s backroom staff.

It is believed that Runarsson is another goalkeeper who Cana had been keeping tabs on, and he is now all set to link up with his former FC Nordsjaelland coach in north London.
