Irate passengers caught up in the chaos have taken to Twitter to complain about the chaos, which comes just one day after thousands of British Airways passengers were caught up in an IT meltdown.

James Penfold wrote on Twitter: ‘Yesterday BA total IT failure and today Network Rail signalling fails & Euston shuts down.

‘@BorisJohnson the infrastructure in this country is truly shocking. It’s like being a child in the 70’s all over again!

‘Are you sure we can go it alone?? #doubtful’

While Holly Southgate wrote: ‘F****** love being stranded in London because no trains are running from Euston.

‘All trains in my direction have been cancelled.’

And Mark Ling said: ‘Another day in Paradise services suspended at Euston. It’s appalling we invented the railway but are incapable of running them successfully.’

National Rail tweeted this afternoon: ‘All lines have now reopened at London Euston following a fault with the signalling system at this station.

‘Services are beginning to return to normal, however, disruption is still to be expected and trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.’

London Euston also tweeted: ‘Power has been restored at Euston and signals are now working again. We’re sorry to passengers as significant disruption is expected while trains get back to normal.’
