‘It’s utter rubbish’: Actor Russell Crowe hits back at bizarre claims he had bad breath, body odour and required a hand double in Cinderella Man movie
Russell Crowe has hit back at bizarre claims.
The actor took to Twitter on Saturday, shutting down rumours he required a hand double in 2002 film A Beautiful Mind, and a body double in 2005 film Cinderella Man.
‘It’s utter horse s**t,’ the New Zealand-born star, 55, told his legion of followers.

‘Well, I’ll tell you quite simply that the story you have attached is utter horse s**t,’ Russell wrote on Twitter.
‘I wrote every equation on the blackboards for A Beautiful Mind in real time, and Renée Zellweger did not have a body double for kissing scenes in Cinderella Man.’
‘If you want less horse s**t in your life, don’t propagate it. Simple,’ he concluded.

In the film, Russell plays mathematician John Nash and is seen writing complex equations on a chalkboard.
The New Yorker alleged that during rehearsals, director Ron Howard noticed Russell and Dave, who was enlisted as a math consultant on the film, had similar handwriting and declared Dave ‘the hand double’.
Meanwhile according to The National Enquirer, Russell’s Cinderella Man co-star Renée Zellweger ‘refused to shoot’ any love scenes until a body double was brought in.
The 2005 film saw Russell play boxing legend James. J. Braddock during the American Great Depression, with Renée playing his wife Mae Braddock.
It was claimed Renée, 50, approached director Ron Howard about Russell’s poor hygiene and a body double was enlisted.
