The Russian beauty queen wife of Malaysia’s former king has posted a video on social media of the pair talking about the strength of their relationship – shortly after it was reported that the pair have divorced.
In the video, 27-year-old Oksana Veovodina tells viewers of the depths of her love for husband Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan, saying: ‘I will take care of him, and of course I want to be the last person in his life and I want to live with him until the end of my life.’
The Sultan then talks about what he considers the most important parts of their relationship – which are ‘children… patience and understanding.’ Children are the most important because ‘they carry on your legacy,’ he says.
On the subject of love, he says: ‘Yeah, yeah fine – love is good, but after 15, 20 years the patience and understanding is going to overtake the love already.’
It is not clear when or where the video was filmed, or who the intended audience was. Both partners speak in English, despite it not being either of their native languages. The clip also appears to be part of a longer video, though Oksana only posted a short part of it online.
Oksana does not appear pregnant in the footage, making it more likely that it was filmed before their wedding.
Muhammad wed Oksana last year in a surprise ceremony in Moscow and she fell pregnant shortly afterwards. He abdicated his throne in January, she gave birth in May, and the divorce was allegedly finalised on July 1.
Oksana Veovodina, the Russian beauty queen who married a Malaysian sultan, has released a video of the pair talking about their marriage amid reports that they have gotten divorced
In the video, which is in English with Russian subtitles, Oksana gushes about the depths of her love for Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan, saying she wants to be ‘the last person in his life’

Oksana is believed to be living apart from her husband in a house he provided for her near Moscow, along with their son who she gave birth to in May
The former beauty queen has posted recently and regularly on Instagram including captions describing their blossoming family and love for her husband Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan
The certificate, bearing the Kelantan state crest, indicates that the divorce was done through the utterance of the word ‘talak’ three times – the most severe and irreversible form of divorce in Islam. It is in her original surname – Gorbatenko.
Oksana is now believed to be staying with her son and mother in a country house near Moscow which the king has provided for her. However, a lawyer for the former model continues to deny that a divorce has taken place.
Evgeny Tarlo said Oksana had received no official paperwork on the end of her marriage to Sultan of Kelantan Muhammad V, declaring: ‘Oksana married for love and is still married.’
He claimed: ‘Divorce is just talk, from a yellowish (scandalous) media. We have no official papers. We do not know anything.’
Paperwork published by Malaysian media appears to show that divorce proceedings started on June 22 and were finalised on July 1 with the repeating of ‘talak’ – the Islamic word for divorce – three times in an irreversible ritual.
Under Islamic law, all that is needed for a divorce to be final is for the husband to reject the wife.
The government of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V’s province, has also denied any knowledge of a divorce.
A senior official in the Kenaltan government – where the ex-king remains sultan – said Thursday: ‘(Just) like when members of the press asked us (the state government) on the sultan’s marriage, we cannot comment (on the divorce news) because we have no official information about that.
‘We only knew about the divorce through social media, including from the news published on the front page of a newspaper.’
The former Miss Moscow is said to have been forced out by Malaysian top brass unhappy with Sultan Muhammad V’s bride
Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah told the New Straits Times that the state government could only comment on the issue if there was an official statement from the Kelantan palace.
Such a statement has not been forthcoming despite the social media frenzy and widespread public interest.
The official appeared to suggest Sultan Muhammad V’s palace should not make a statement to clarify the issue.
‘I suggest those who are interested in the issue to seek information from the palace or the Kelantan Royal Household Comptroller,’ he said.
A friend, Tatyana Andreeva, went further by admitting to Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper that Oksana had flown to Russia to attend a contest Beauty of Russia 2019 on 26 June – and was already divorced when she arrived.
‘She came to this contest as an already divorced woman. Now she is in Moscow,’ she said.
And another anonymous friend said of the divorce: ‘Oksana has nothing to do with it. There are guesses how everything happened, and why Muhammad did this, but I cannot share them yet.’
Lawyer Tarlo, 61, a former Russian senator, said the king is providing for Oksana.
‘He helps her, yes,’ he said. ‘He sends money, she lives at his expense. I cannot name the amount, but it is enough to live on. In Moscow, she and her mother rent an apartment and a country house. They have security.
‘So far the question is not about the money, but if it arises, I will defend Oksana’s interests and the interests of her young child.’
He said: ‘I do not deal with divorce, because there is no divorce as of today. There are no documents. I am engaged in defending the interests of Oksana, defending her from attacks of the media.
‘Oksana married for love and is still married, she did not file any documents for divorce. She gave birth to a child in Moscow, in a maternity hospital of the (Russian) presidential administration. Understand, she is a nursing mother.
‘In this position she should be protected from stress …
‘She will call (the ex-king) and they will solve this issue between them in a family circle.’
The lawyer said that Oksana’s child was a member of the Malaysian elite because of his birth as the only son of a senior royal figure.

She posted her first Instagram photo in early June, announcing: ‘Welcome to my Official Instagram page. I will be happy to share with you the moments of my life. Greetings to all of you and thank you for your support!’

Oksana is said to have recently attended a beauty contest in Russia last month (left) as a friend revealed her marriage was finished – she is living with her mother Lyudmila, 48 (right), who appears to have also been a model
‘This country is at the centre of geopolitical interests of various powers. And there are also plenty of domestic intrigues. From here we get the gossip and information stuffing.’ Tarlo said.
‘But Oksana does not intend to involve the press in her relationship with her husband. She loves her husband very much and that is forever.’
Oksana is now ‘in Moscow’ – where her baby was born in May – and is with her mother Lyudmila, 48, he said.
The surprise wedding of Sultan Muhammad V and Oksana in the Russian capital last November had stunned Malaysians.
But a divorce certificate indicates the former king, who quit the monarchy after revelations over his wife’s ‘sex in the pool’ antics in a reality TV show, has ended the relationship.
The divorce was registered as final on July 1, the New Straits Times reported today in Kuala Lumpur.
The certificate is the copy given to the wife, it is claimed. It is in her original surname – Gorbatenko.
The date of the divorce was listed as June 22 and it was marked as taking place in Singapore. The couple’s son was born on May 21.
The couple wed on June 7 last year in a Muslim ceremony which was not made public. Their relationship came to light when they held a lavish second wedding in a Moscow concert hall.
So far there is no comment on social media from the Russian bride.
There was speculation in January that the marriage was foundering which was denied by her father Andrei Gorbatenko, an orthopaedic surgeon, who said: ‘It’s nonsense. I do not read the Internet, but I would have been the first to know.’
The Kelantan palace has not commented on the divorce reports.
Oksana with her father Andrei as a young girl, the orthopaedic surgeon, refuted divorce rumours in January and said: ‘It’s nonsense. I do not read the Internet, but I would have been the first to know’
Her lawyer Evgeny Tarlo (pictured) said Oksana had received no official paperwork on the end of her marriage to Sultan of Kelantan Muhammad V, declaring: ‘Oksana married for love and is still married.’

Oksana shared this image on her Instagram early in June, writing: ‘Family and children are the most important things in this life. Take care of each other’
Oksana posted this picture of her pushing her son Leo in his pram in a Malaysian palace last month, writing: ‘Leo eats every 2.5 – 3 hours, he sleeps good, especially when it is fresh air outside and he enjoys cuddling very much. Actually he is wonderful and very calm child’
But on Wednesday it issued a a statement rebuking the practice of referring to certain individuals as ‘Permaisuri of Kelantan’, ‘Raja Perempuan Kelantan’, ‘Sultanah Kelantan’ or ‘Queen of Kelantan’ without official approval from the palace.
This was seen as hitting back at reports referring to Oksana – also called Rihana – as a ‘queen’ or other royal titles.
The New Straits Times reported: ‘The cause of the couple’s divorce remains the subject of speculation, although a copy of the divorce certificate that was circulating online — confirmed by a source to be genuine — seems to hint at a serious matter because it was a ‘talak tiga’ divorce.
‘Also known as talaq baayin, or the irrevocable divorce, it is the most severe divorce in Islam.’
In a recent post the ex-Miss Moscow writes in English and Russian that she believes her son, born in May, will one day become ‘king of Malaysia’.
Oksana shared this picture while pregnant, writing: ‘It was the most important and, at the same time, the most difficult period in my life’
Oksana shared this picture in May, writing: ’21 May 2019 – the Day, when my life was divided into ‘before’ and ‘after’. Everything that I was told about the changes occurring with a woman after the birth of a baby is true. This love is special’
In a separate posting in local language Malay, she says her son should be the future king of Kelantan – the province where her husband is ruler despite his abdication of the national throne.
She last posted a picture with her husband on July 6 – and is also seen pushing a pram with her baby in a Malaysian palace.
She also gave apparently warm details – not previously revealed – of their meeting.
But she made one posting on June 9 that could be seen as ambiguous – or high critical of her husband.
She wrote: ‘The man who really loves his woman will do everything for his beloved one. Love and taking care is the base for strong and healthy relationship.
‘A good husband will always support and be nice with his wife. Always is interested how does she feel and takes care of her, if she is tired.
She has continued to share glamorous photos from their wedding which took place in the Russian capital on November 22 last year
Pictures posted to her Instagram account have been accompanied by captions describing how the pair met in the spring of 2017 and their subsequent romance
Royal wedding: Oksana Voevodina, 27, married Malaysia’s Muhammad V of Kelantan, 50, in a lavish royal wedding ceremony in the Russian capital in November last year
The controversial two month marriage between the outgoing Malaysian king Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan and Russian beauty queen Oksana Voevodina (left and right with her husband) is in trouble, according to reports in Moscow
‘Always 100% keeps his promises. Always takes responsibility for the family and doesn’t put this responsibility on his wife’s shoulders.
‘During pregnancy he would give his wife increased attention, gifts and care. Relationships are based on how can people support and understand each other.
‘Family is the result of the work of two people who can give love gratuitously.’
Initially this posting was seen as praising her husband, but in the light of the divorce report – which is seen as genuine in Malaysia – her words can be seen as a barbed criticism of his failings.
Today she has also posted a video of the couple on Instagram which has been viewed more than 50,000 times.
It is not clear when it was filmed, but in it she says: ‘Care about me and my family and I will take care of him and of course I want to be the last person in his life, and I want to live with him until the end of my life.’
The camera pans to Sultan Muhammad V who says: ‘Our family priority number one has to be children, because children carries on your legacy. For me the two most important, is patience and understanding.
‘There’s a lot of people say love, yeah yeah fine, love is good. But after 15/20 years, the patience and understanding will overtake the love already. Even though there are a lot of hobbies we don’t do together, there’s a lot of understanding.’

The former beauty queen did not reply but another commenter claiming to be a palace inside said the king dropped her after videos and details of their relationship hit the Russian media.
‘He didn’t like it,’ said the posting.
She is described as a ‘leech’ who wanted to put on a ‘glass slipper that doesn’t belong to her.’
