A Russian shop worker has been left with horrific burns after her ex-lover allegedly doused her in petrol and set her on fire when she ended their relationship. 

Appalling CCTV footage shows Tatiana Osokina, 39, being shoved into a staff room by a 41-year-old man who walked into the store in Solikamsk, Russia.  

He then doused her in petrol and set her ablaze, say reports citing law enforcement.

A female work colleague rushes out, then the man identified as married Alexander Mazzherov calmly departs.

The terrified victim is then seen sprinting out of the room engulfed in flames.

Ms Osokina’s colleague doused the flames with a fire extinguisher, preventing her suffering far more serious burns, said reports in Russia.

Security guard Mazzherov worked at the same store. He had reacted aggressively after she ended their affair, saying she loved her husband, said reports.

He was detained by police soon afterwards.

Ms Osokina’s husband Alexey said: ‘She called me herself saying a man set fire to her.

‘I was on a business trip. The police have not called me yet. I do not know the suspect.’

He was waiting at his wife’s hospital but had not been allowed to see her, he said.

Regional health minister Oksana Melekhova called it a ‘flagrant crime’.

‘Doctors are doing everything they can to save the victim’s life,’ she said.

Mazzherov is under criminal investigation for ‘attempted murder with particular cruelty’.

If convicted he could face up to 15 years in prison.
