Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes ‘have been DROPPED from their This Morning slot and will be replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary’

Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have allegedly been dropped from their This Morning slot on Friday.

According to a report from The Mirror on Saturday, the married presenters, both 60, are said to be ‘furious and upset’ as they will now be replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

A source speaking to the publication said the TV personality, 45, and  X Factor presenter, 47, have ‘real warmth’ and have been seen as perfect replacements for Ruth and Eamonn.

The insider said of the decision: ‘It’s time for a change and they are perfect.

‘Eamonn is pretty furious and everyone feels for him and Ruth, they are well liked on the team, but sometimes tough decisions have to be made.’

Alison and Dermot have previously worked together on the show, presenting it as a duo whilst Ruth, Eamonn, Holly Willoughy and Phillip Schofield were away during the summer holidays.

MailOnline has contacted ITV spokespeople as well as Ruth and Eamonn’s representatives for comment.
