Fitzy & Wippa radio host Sarah McGilvray was married over the weekend.
And she surprised everyone by turning what was meant to be an engagement party into her actual wedding day.
Sarah wed her partner James Couche in a ceremony that included her friends, family and co-star Ryan Fitzgerald.

Instead, those gathered for the event watched Sarah walk down the aisle in a stunning, retro lace gown featuring pom-pom details before joining her for a celebratory lunch.
Sarah’s unusual dress was created by celebrity designer Rachel Gilbert, and featured a v neckline and veil.
Her groom opted for a fitted, chic blue suit, matching pastel blue tie and brown loafers.

Stumbling into the room a half hour late and wearing jeans and a T-shirt was Sarah’s co-host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald, who had no idea he was attending a wedding.
Sarah’s younger brother had just announced to the crowd: ‘I’m going to let the cat out of the bag, a wedding happened today and it wasn’t mine!’
Later, Fitzy shared a photo to Instagram of the bride and bridal party at the reception and shared his shock.

‘Ultimate stitch up!’ Fitzy wrote in his caption. ‘Rocked up half hour late to this little engagement shindig and @sarahmcgilvray and @couchie79 arrive over-dressed in wedding attire!’
He added comically: ‘So happy for you both, please enjoy the bottle of Yellow Glen we got you.’
The official Nova account also marveled at the surprise wedding, writing on Instagram: ‘We still can’t get over the fact that @sarahmcgilvray surprised everyone and got hitched this weekend!’

Once she pulled off the amazing feat, Sarah discussed how she kept a lid on her plans during her radio show.
‘I’ve had a few accidental slip-ups, it’s been hard to keep it up a secret. So many people have been suspicious,’ Sarah said on-air afterwards.

‘It was good fun, it was a really long day because obviously we got up, we went to the church, we got the kids baptized at the same time, and then we got married and then we obviously came to lunch.
‘It was a very long day but everyone was having a very good time,’ Sarah added.
Sarah is know for surprises – she also announced she was engaged live on-air in June.
The bubbly blonde shared the happy news with her listeners, revealing the hilarious way she was surprised by her partner James, who she affectionately calls ‘Gary’ on the show.

She explained that her co-host Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli duped her into thinking he was taking her and fellow work colleague Tom Ivey out for a long lunch at Rockpool restaurant in Melbourne.
But little did Sarah know, she was about to walk in on her own proposal.
‘So I’m in my hotel room watching The Handmaid’s Tale. I had forgotten what time was. I was a few minutes late and ran down to Rockpool,’ she said on Sydney’s Nova.

‘I get there and I’ve been stood up by two of my mates, Tommy and Wippa. So I go in and say ‘booking under Wipfli’. The waiter looks at me funny and goes, ‘Ahh yeah, hang on’.’
She said the waiter took her around the corner and much to her confusion her partner James was sitting at the table.
Sarah quickly realised it wasn’t a team lunch at all, as the table was only set for two people.

‘I sat down and they brought out some champagne and then ‘Gary’ happened to look very, very nervous and had a certain question for me,’ she said.
With the entire studio eagerly awaiting Sarah’s next response, she said: ‘And ‘Gary’ and I are engaged!’
The Nova team were left cheering with delight as she announced the exciting news.
