Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald looks VERY different in throwback magazine shoot

This month, on the day of his tenth wedding anniversary, former Big Brother star Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald tested his wife by getting a hotter, fitter man to chat her up.

The prank went horribly awry, but the Nova host, 41, should have known his wife Belinda would have found ripped exotic dancer ‘Fireman Sam’ attractive.

On Wednesday, with the help of throwback images from one of Fitzy’s ancient magazine shoots (circa 2004), it became clear that the radio star once looked an awful lot like the man he paid to ‘honey trap’ his wife.

These days, he cuts a very different figure

The revelation was made via Nova FM’s Instagram account, who dug through the archives to find one of Fitzy’s post-Big Brother shirtless shoots.

‘WHAT A THROWBACK! Remember when Fitzy had hair?’ the cheeky caption read.

In the snap, which is now more than a decade old, Fitzy was oiled up and in peak physical condition.

The cruel sands of time had not yet swept across his forehead, meaning the reality star was still endowed with a full head of hair.

'Remember?' Fitzy's own Nova co-workers shared the image on Instagram Wednesday, adding the caption: 'WHAT A THROWBACK! Remember when Fitzy had hair?'

And he sure made the most of it, the hunk seen running his hands through his formerly luscious locks.

The year was 2003, and Fitzy was fresh off coming a respectable fourth on the fourth season of Big Brother Australia.

His body was oiled, his locks were existent, and he could have almost passed as Fireman Sam’s older brother.

This month, he performed a ‘faithfulness’ prank on his wife Belinda, that saw him pay a man he deemed physically more appealing than himself to chat up his wife.

Fitzy was attempting to set a ‘honey trap,’ which is a slang term for the process of testing one’s partner by seeing how they react to a proposition from another suitor.

It backfired on the Nova host spectacularly, as his wife happily agreed to give exotic dancer Fireman Sam his number.

It was however later suggested that Belinda was either in on the prank, or cottoned on to the stunt and ‘played along’ for the benefit of the segment.

He now hosts the station’s breakfast radio show alongside Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli.

In 2008, Fitzy and Belinda were married – they now have two kids.
