Ryan Reynolds pays tribute to the late Bella Brave who passed away at just 10… months after he visited her in the hospital: ‘She took zero s**t from anyone’

Ryan Reynolds paid tribute to the young TikTok star he visited in the hospital last year, who just passed away at 10 years of age.

Bella Thomson – who was known as Bella Brave – passed away on Monday, her mother Kyla announced on Instagram.

Reynolds – who recently joked about ‘sexual tension’ between him and Hugh Jackman in Deadpool & Wolverine – had visited Bella at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto back in December.

The 47-year-old actor took to his Instagram story on Monday to share a sweet tribute to Bella in lieu of her passing.

‘Bella was so funny and so charming. I loved meeting her and I’m so deeply sad to hear this news,’ Reynolds began.

‘She had a razor sharp wit and took zero s**t from anyone. Particularly me,’ he added in his tribute. 

He also offered his, ‘deepest condolences to her family and the staff at (The Hospital for Sick Children) who cared for her in every way possible.’

Bella’s mother Kyla shared the news of her daughter’s passing on Sunday, revealing she passed away that afternoon.

‘Our brave girl left her legacy here on earth to dance on streets of gold July 14th 2024 at 4:19pm ET,’ Kyla began.

‘Bella passed peacefully in our arms. Please keep her name on your lips, her memories alive and her bravery in your hearts,’ Kyla added. 

Please share with us every detail of how she touched your life or kept you brave. Bella would want you to remember; God is love, be brave and you are never too old to bring a stuffy,’ Kyla concluded.

Bella and Kyla quickly gained a following of over 7 million on TikTok and 337K on Instagram by sharing their journey through numerous medical issuees.

Bella suffered from severe combined immunodeficiency and Hirschsprung’s disease, and her bowel transplant surgery in late November 2023.

Just two weeks after the surgery, Reynolds paid her a visit, which Kyla chronicled in a number of TikTok videos.

He shows her this year’s ugly sweater – a festive green sweater – as Bella suggests, ‘it would look better with glitter on it,’ and Reynolds jokes, ‘it would look better on fire.’

He says he’s going to leave the sweater with her because he knows she’s, ‘dying to wear an ugly sweater like this one,’ and she plainly says, ‘I’m not dying to wear it.’

Reynolds also asked her how she felt going into a major surgery like that, and her response was, ‘Meh.’
