Ryan Seacrest says he ‘loves’ American Idol

Ratings for Ryan Seacrest’s beloved American Idol slumped to an all-time low this week.

But the singing show’s host was still in high spirits Friday, seen keeping a low-profile in all black while out in Beverly Hills.

And it seemed like nothing could bring the Live With Kelly And Ryan personality, 43, down who said: ‘I love that show,’ as TMZ caught up with him outside of E Baldi restaurant.

Always positive! Though American Idol ratings slumped to an all-time low this week, host Ryan Seacrest was still in high spirits Friday, seen keeping a low-profile while out in Beverly Hills

‘It’s such a great show,’ he said about Idol — which marked all-time low ratings on Sunday and Monday night, prompting many to wonder if the ABC reboot will even get a second season.

Asked if he knows if the show will return, Ryan only said: ‘I hope so’ while posing for a selfie with a fan.

While out, the Georgia-born talent went for a casual look wearing a black hoodie emblazoned the words ‘Heart X Hustle’, Champion sweatpants, a dark baseball hat and brown sunglasses.

Making it clear he wasn’t your Average Joe, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star wore a pair of expensive designer Nikes on foot.

Bright side! While many are asking if the ABC reboot will even get a second season, Ryan was optimistic saying: ‘I hope so!’

He threw his hands up in a ‘What are you gonna do?’ gesture, perhaps reacting to the state of his beloved singing show, before making his way to his car with smartphone in hand.

Monday’s episode of Idol earned the show a series-low rating of 6.9million viewer and only drew in a 1.3 Nielsen rating, according to Variety.

This is despite the fact it lead into ABC’s highly anticipated interview with James Comey.

Though a high-profile judge panel including Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan hoped to be enough to float the reboot of the FOX hit, the show has been under-performing since its debut.

This season is the show’s most expensive yet, with Perry alone reportedly earning $25million for her participation.

And those celebrity salaries, which are said to be 60% higher than those of previous seasons according to Wall Street Journal, may be what keeps the show from a second season on ABC.

American Idol originally ran for 15 seasons on Fox, giving talents like Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood and many more their start.
