Sadio Mane was reportedly seen smiling as he appeared at Bayern Munich’s training centre on Thursday morning ahead of talks with club chiefs after he punched team-mate Leroy Sane in the face in a furious dressing-room row.

The brawl involving the two Bayern stars took place after Bayern’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at the Etihad.

The incident reportedly left Sane with an injured lip and could have serious consequences for Mane, who will face Bayern’s top brass today.

Sky Sports Germany report that Mane, 31, will make an apology to the rest of the Bayern squad later today as club chiefs continue to assess the situation.

The outlet claims Bayern’s bosses are weighing up sanctions including fines, suspensions and even outright separation from the squad entirely following the incident.

The team are set to start training at 11am on Thursday morning, yet Mane’s arrival – nearly two hours prior – suggests he will be in talks with club chiefs prior to the session.

The incident occurred shortly after Bayern’s humbling defeat to Premier League champions Man City on Tuesday night.

As reported by Sportsmail, Bayern players had to separate the two wingers after an on-pitch argument spilled into the tunnel post-match.

In pictures that emerged on Thursday morning, German winger Sane appeared to cover his injured lip from reporters after landing back in Munich.

Senegal international Mane is said to have been picked up by a separate vehicle from Munich Airport, whereas Sane caught the coach with the rest of the squad.

The fracas will present manager Thomas Tuchel with a sizeable and immediate challenge as Bayern look to bounce back from their defeat against the English side.

Bayern, who lead the Bundesliga by only two points, are set to face Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon, and with the promise of a Champions League trophy this season dangling by a thread, must win the game to shore up their hold at the top of the table.

The reigning German champions were brutally punished by Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.

Bayern fell behind to Rodri’s stunning first-half opener before a mistake from Dayot Upamecano allowed Bernardo Silva to double City’s lead.

Haaland added a third for the hosts to give Bayern a mountain to climb in the second leg at the Allianz Arena on April 19.

Mane had been brought on in the 69th minute of the defeat, with the forward having endured a mixed first season since joining from Liverpool for £35million last summer.
