Sadio Mane reportedly punched his team-mate Leroy Sane in the face in the aftermath of Bayern Munich’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

The alleged altercation came in the dressing room following the final whistle at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

Sane and Mane had been seen disagreeing on the pitch in the latter stages of the match, shortly after City had taken a three goal lead through Erling Haaland.

According to the German newspaper Bild, the discussion continued after the match with Mane having been angered by how Sane had spoken to him.

The 31-year-old reportedly punched Sane in the dressing room, with fellow Bayern players intervening to separate the pair.

The punch had reportedly caused Sane’s lip to bleed.

Sportmail has contacted Bayern Munich for a comment on the incident.

Bild reported that Mane is expected to face a fine from the club over the altercation.

The reigning German champions were brutally punished by Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final.

Bayern fell behind to Rodri’s stunning first-half opener, before a mistake from Dayot Upamecano allowed Bernardo Silva to double City’s lead.

Haaland added a third for the hosts to give Bayern a mountain to climb in the second leg at the Allianz Arena on April 19.

Mane had been brought on in the 69th minute of the defeat, with the forward having had a mixed first season since joining from Liverpool for £35million last summer.
