Salim Mehajer has been rushed to hospital after being involved in a major car crash on his way to a court hearing on Monday morning.
The controversial socialite and former deputy mayor of Auburn council was trapped in his car for 20 minutes after the crash on Delhi Road at Lidcombe, in Sydney’s west.
Pictures from the scene of the accident show Mr Mehajer on a stretcher wearing a neck brace, being wheeled into an ambulance by paramedics.

The 31-year-old, who rose to fame after his lavish wedding to now ex-wife Aysha in 2015, was due to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court at 9.20am on Monday.
Mr Mehajer was treated at the scene for neck pain and taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition
Paramedics reportedly also treated a woman at the scene, but she did not require treatment.
A lawyer for Mr Mehajer reportedly told the Downing Centre his client had been a no-show for court because of a motor accident
