Salim Mehajer’s friend claims he saw disgraced businessman having ‘dry sex’ with his estranged wife

A friend of Salim Mehajer has testified in court that he saw the disgraced property developer and his estranged wife Aysha Learmonth having ‘dry sex’ last year.

Mehajer faced a hearing at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday after pleading not guilty to breaching his AVO by allegedly messaging Ms Learmonth on Instagram in November 2017.

Barristers for Ms Learmonth told the court Mehajer allegedly messaged his ex 400 times after they split up in March 2016 – the same year the court order banning him from contacting her was implemented, according to News.com.au.

The 31-year-old has denied contacting Ms Learmonth and suggested she could have used his phone to send a message to herself from his Instagram account during a sleepover at his house. He said she still occasionally stayed at his home during that period.

Mohammed Ghanem, a friend of Mehajer, told the court he had seen Ms Learmonth at the former Auburn mayor’s home twice last year.

He said he saw the pair being intimate through the home’s front glass door.

‘They were making love…it was dry sex…I seen [sic] his tongue and her tongue on her mouth. She was enjoying it,’ Mr Ghanem said.

Mr Ghanem denied making up the incident when asked by Police prosecutor Stephen Dayeian, who said he ‘rejected everything’ that Mr Ghanem said.

During the hearing, Mehajer claimed the former couple had contact with each other during ‘about seven’ events at his home.

He accused her of being ‘flirtatious’ and of initiating contact with him by email and social media, according to News.com.au.

Geoffrey Foster, the former Auburn mayor’s lawyer, accused Ms Learmonth of sending an email to Mehajer in July last year, which he claimed was followed up by a face-to-face meeting at a café in Parramatta.

‘[The meeting] was on her request. She needed something from me. At the time I was led to believe she wanted to see me,’ Mehajer told the court, according to the publication.

‘[Her behaviour towards me was] perhaps flirtatious; Showing a bit of connection to me…no sign of being distant. It was a bit awkward but it was still loving.’

Mehajer couldn’t produce a receipt for the alleged meeting at a café and said there were no photos of Ms Learmonth at his home during his alleged events.
