Oak Schuetz said Sam Burgess is no longer speaking with her
A waitress who was romantically linked to Sam Burgess now claims he turned his back on her after she publicly claimed the pair were dating.
Oak Schuetz, 27, said she was dating the retired NRL star after the pair met at The Establishment bar in Sydney’s CBD on Thursday night.
She told The Daily Telegraph ‘Sam and I aren’t talking anymore’ and said the situation ‘messed up’ after news of the relationship broke.
Miss Schuetz said the Englishman had stopped returning her calls and she was unsure whether he’d ever contact her again.
Initially, he seemed supportive when news broke, she claimed.
‘He was really lovely, he’s such a gentleman, he was asking me in the morning if I was all right after the story (of us) appeared (in the paper),’ Miss Schuetz said.
Early in the year, the 27-year-old asked for ‘help’ from strangers by starting a GoFundMe page hoping to raise $9,000.
The account has since been closed with no explanation of what the money was for, but in the post she said she was ‘sad and scared.. taking out loans’ to get by.

‘I always scrape by and try to do my good deeds. I am so sad and scared that I shake as I write this — but I now need help,’ she wrote on the post.
Since the appeal, she travelled internationally and moved to Australia, where she landed a job waitressing earlier this year.
Despite telling the publication she was dating Burgess on Sunday, the pair have both since denied they are any more than friends.
Burgess told Daily Mail Australia the allegations were ‘not true’ before Miss Schuetz created a series of bizarre Instagram videos were she claimed they were actually ‘just friends’.

In footage she posted on Monday night, the American waitress said ‘rumours pertaining to our relationship… takes a hit at our characters’.
She denied they were any more than friends and clarified that she is still single.
‘I’m single and Sam is single and it needs to be left at that because it just does. I just wanted to clear that up.’
Miss Schuetz said she found the whole ordeal ‘frustrating’ and said her ‘quotes were taken out of context.’
‘If we did want to get some things out on the radar we can say that I also invented microwave popcorn, I am a bounty hunter in my spare time and I’m an astrophysicist,’ she said.
The Opera Bar waitress initially claimed she and Burgess were ‘dating for sure’ after a whirlwind four-day romance.

She tagged Sam Burgess in an Instagram rant, as she claimed they were both still single
On Sunday morning Burgess drove his BMW to her house in Matraville in Sydney’s east and the pair were seen chatting, laughing and hugging outside.
But she has since claimed the photos were taken out of context.
‘Sam just brought me my phone and it needs to be left at that,’ she said. ‘It’s frustrating that they can say what they want and put things together.’
Miss Schuetz, who is from Seattle and works at O-Bar And Dining in the CBD, previously told the Daily Telegraph that she and father-of-two Burgess were dating.
She said she had no idea who Burgess was when he approached her on Thursday night.
Burgess bought her a drink and when she went to his table to thank him she saw he was with his mother and friends, she said.
The Rabbitohs star apparently introduced her to the group and later told her he was divorcing the mother of his two children, Phoebe Hooke.

‘I know he’s getting divorced and going through a tough time but, like my motto goes, ”why not?”,’ she said.
The American has the phrase tattooed on her inner arm and often flaunts it in racy social media pictures.
Miss Schuetz said the pair left the city bar separately because Burgess didn’t want them to be seen together – and described him and his penthouse as ‘lovely’.
She said that after she learned Burgess was famous, she searched the mother of his two children online.
‘I googled his wife Phoebe, she’s so pretty. Prettier than me… I’m just going to go for it and see what happens,’ she said.
Burgess and Phoebe first separated in December 2018 before rekindling their relationship in April. They separated most recently in October.
Police took out a temporary apprehended violence order on behalf of Phoebe’s father after an alleged altercation between he and Burgess following the separation.
Miss Schuetz follows Burgess on Instagram, but he does not follow her in return.
