Sam Burgess has taken another big step towards rebuilding his life after football and a series of off-field scandals by joining forces with pub baron Stu Laundy to buy a sprawling waterfront hotel.
Burgess, along with older brother Luke, snapped up a share in the $38million dollar Bayview Hotel at Woy Woy which changed hands last week following a major bidding war amongst Sydney’s pub tsars.
The large-scale waterfront hotel, which had been run for several decades by the Narvo family, set a new record price for the NSW Central Coast when it was bought by Stu Laundy and legendary publican father Arthur.

And a representative for the Laundy family confirmed exclusively to Daily Mail Australia that both Luke and Sam Burgess had become shareholders in the deal.
“Sam and Luke were interested in making a foray into the pub business so this deal worked out perfectly for where they were looking to start,” the rep said.
“We’re thrilled to be going into business with them.”
Daily Mail Australia understands the brothers bought a minor but undisclosed share in the hotel which had also attracted interest from Merivale boss Justin Hemmes.
But in what was the first joint purchase deal between Stuart and Arthur, the Laundy’s prevailed with the keys set to be exchanged on December 6.
Both Sam and Luke are close friends of the Laundy family and had been looking to break in to the hotel game when the ‘right opportunity’ arose.

DEAL: Luke Burgess with good pal-turned-business partner Stu Laundy
Since retiring from football, Luke Burgess has pivoted into the fashion business and oversees the running of the family’s 4B clothing label.
Meanwhile, Sam recently triumphed in the second season of Channel Seven’s Celebrity SAS Australia as he continues on his road to redemption following a year which saw him accused of drug and domestic violence crimes by his ex-wife Phoebe Burgess.
The divorced father-of-two was recently cleared by police of any wrongdoing following a year-long investigation sparked by allegations first levelled in The Australian.
Burgess also avoided recording a conviction for driving with cocaine in his system in February.
The former Souths skipper pleaded guilty to three driving charges after he was pulled over by police and tested positive for cocaine on February 22.
At the time the incident and allegations of domestic abuse cost Burgess his coaching job with South Sydney and commentary work with Fox Sports.
Defamation lawyer Mark O’Brien, acting for Burgess, said after The Australian’s allegations were published: ‘The allegations are false and constitute an indefensible defamation against my client.’

‘It is apparent sources of the false allegations are those currently in dispute with my client over various issues’.
It’s believed Burgess, who recently travelled to Thailand where he assisted the crew on Russell Crowe’s upcoming flick The Greatest Beer Run Ever, has ruled out any defamation proceedings against The Australian.
He is due to soon relocate from Sydney to Crowe’s property just outside Coffs Harbour where he is expected to take up a coaching job with country club Orara Valley.
According to sources close to the retired NRL great, Burgess hopes the job will eventually lead him back to a coaching position with his beloved South Sydney Rabbitohs in Redfern.

Meanwhile news of his foray into the pub business in Woy Woy is likely to be a hit with locals in the area which, despite its distance from Sydney’s South, is regarded as a Rabbitohs supporter stronghold.
The Bayview Hotel itself is decorated in South Sydney colours and dozens pf pictures of players – past and present – adorn the walls of the pub.
