Sam Cochrane and Tara Pavlovic feud over ‘physical and verbal abuse’ claims

Former Bachelor In Paradise couple Sam Cochrane and Tara Pavlovic are locked in a social media stoush after he made extraordinary claims she physically and verbally abused him.

Sam, 34, accused Tara of violent behaviour before their June split in a bombshell interview with Woman’s Day on Monday, prompting the Queensland nanny, 28, to respond by branding him ’emotionally abusive’.

Tara later admitted that she did hit her then-fiancé at their engagement party, but alleged he ‘pushed her’ to do it and insisted her actions were ‘out of character’.

In his bombshell Woman’s Day interview, Sam alleged that Tara hit him and would ‘verbally attack’ him during their tumultuous relationship.

After the magazine hit newsstands, Tara wrote a comment on Instagram, in which she admitted she once hit him at their engagement party.

In the middle of a heated argument, Tara claimed she ‘hit [Sam] and cried and told him to get out of my hotel’.

‘This was so out of character for me, which is why I left when he he begged me back for weeks,’ she explained.

In another Instagram Story post responding to the claims, Tara alleged that Sam was ’emotionally abusive’ during their six-month relationship.

‘I am getting so many messages from women who have been through the same thing I recently went through,’ she said.

‘Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences with me and sending your love. I feel lucky that I was in a similar relationship when I was younger.

‘So, after six months I was able to recognise the signs and walk away without guilt when he cried begging me back.

‘For any girls struggling in an emotionally abusive relationship, there is an article I read about dating a narcissist that really helped me understand what was going on. I’ve done a swipe-up link for anyone who wants to read it. You’re not crazy.’

Tara had previously shared an Instagram post about dating a ‘narcissist’, but did not mention Sam by name.

‘There are terrible people in this world. I’ve learned that over the past six months,’ she wrote. ‘I reached a low I never knew I could reach and I turned into a person I have never been before. I am a good person and that’s all that matters,’ she wrote.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Tara Pavlovic for comment.

Last week, Tara told Daily Mail Australia that she felt ‘relieved’ following her split and alleged that her relationship with Sam was ‘toxic’.

‘Sam left me after a fight thinking I would beg for him back – he always threatened to leave and played games,’ she alleged.

‘But this time I told him to never speak to me again and then he begged for me back for weeks.’

She claimed: ‘The relationship was just the most toxic thing. I feel the biggest sense of relief now that it’s all over. I finally feel like I’m myself again.’

Sam’s allegations come weeks after his mother, Rosie Wynter, took a thinly-veiled swipe at Tara and implied there was more to the story surrounding their split.

‘You cannot imagine the story behind it and I opened my heart and home. I can’t say anymore… please understand. There is so much to it,’ she claimed on Instagram.

Sam and Tara confirmed their split via Instagram in June.

They got engaged during the Bachelor in Paradise finale, which was filmed in Fiji last year and aired in late April.

Sam proposed with a GS Diamonds ring believed to be worth $11,000. Following their break-up, he announced plans to auction it off for charity.
