‘The stakes were higher’: Sam Wood reveals why his relationship with Snezana Markoski lasted while other Bachelor romances fell apart
Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski have gone from strength to strength since falling in love on The Bachelor in 2015.
And in an interview from WHO’s Most Beautiful People issue, on sale now, Sam explained why their relationship lasted while others fell apart after a few months.
‘The one big difference for us was Eve,’ he said, referring to Snezana’s daughter from a previous marriage. ‘[The relationship] needed to be real.’

Sam continued: ‘We needed to make sure because the stakes were so high. We were, and it turned out to be the best thing we ever did.’
It comes after the personal trainer slammed the latest crop of Bachelor contestants who, he believes, are only ‘in it for the fame’.
He told BW Magazine in February that he’d watched a few episodes from Nick Cummins’ season and frankly wasn’t impressed.

‘I feel a lot of people seem to be in it for the fame and meeting someone is a secondary consideration,’ he said.
Sam previously hinted last year that he didn’t like the direction the Bachelor franchise was heading in.
‘If you’re not doing it for the right reasons, I think you’re going to come unstuck,’ he told Now To Love.

Reflecting on his own journey in 2015, Sam added that he and Snezana got what they wanted out of the experience because they both signed up out of a sense of adventure.
‘She didn’t take it too seriously, she didn’t go in with preconceived ideas or expectations to become a celebrity,’ he said.
Sam and Snezana are proud parents to one-year-old daughter, Willow Wood.
They are expecting their second child together later this year, and Snezana also has a teenage daughter, Eve, from her first marriage.
