Samantha Armytage offers to ADOPT Johnny Depp’s dogs Pistol and Boo

Samantha Armytage offers to ADOPT Johnny Depp’s dogs Pistol and Boo – after the actor ‘jokingly threatened to put one in the microwave and admitted the other nibbled on hashish’

Australian breakfast TV presenter Samantha Armytage, 43, has offered to adopt Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s dogs Pistol and Boo, following shock allegations about how they were treated by one of their A-list owners.

On Wednesday, Hollywood star Depp, 57, and his ex-wife Heard, 32, appeared in court for the second day of his libel case against News Group Newspapers.

During questioning, Depp faced claims he threatened to put Pistol in the microwave, telling the court it was nothing more than a ‘running joke’.

He also admitted that Boo previously nibbled upon his stash of hashish, but denied claims he dangled Pistol out of a car window.

After reporting about the hearing on Thursday’s edition of Sunrise, Samantha lamented: ‘Pistol and Boo, haven’t they been through a lot in their lives.’

Co-host David ‘Kochie’ Koch’ added: ‘Oh my god, threatening to be put in a microwave. Then, nibbling on drugs!’

‘That’s terrible. Poor Pistol and Boo,’ sighed Samantha, who owns a Labrador named Banjo.

‘I’d like to adopt Pistol and Boo,’ she added.

Pistol was reportedly given to Heard by her former girlfriend, artist Tasya van Ree, while Boo originally belonged to Depp.

In April 2015, Heard flew the dogs into Australia on a private jet without declaring them to customs officials.

Depp was filming the latest instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean series at the time.

Authorities only became aware of the presence of Pistol and Boo when their visit to a Gold Coast dog grooming salon was made public on Facebook.

The incident sparked global headlines when Agriculture Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce said the dogs had better ‘bugger off’ back to the US or he’d arrange to have them put down.

The dogs were quickly whisked out of the country before a 72-hour deadline lapsed when the canines would have to be seized.

Heard was charged with breaching Australian customs laws but those charges were later dropped after she and Depp issued a bizarre video apology.

Depp was never charged over the incident.
