She was a member of the Cameron inner circle, looking after Samantha’s diary and helping her with her wardrobe.

Now former special adviser Isabel Spearman, 40, has repaid her former boss by modelling for the fashion label Cefinn, which Mrs Cameron, 48, launched after leaving Downing Street.

The brand consultant – known as Bells – chose her two favourite items for the label’s blog: a £370 navy and white pinstripe Isabel maxi dress, which may well have been named after her, and a £470 brown checked Sullivan coat.

Ideal for those who hate ironing, the dress is made from Mrs Cameron’s signature techni-voile fabric, which is a mixture of tri-acetate and polyester.

Described as ‘crease resistant’, on the website, Miss Spearman – who quit Downing Street in 2015 after she married computer tycoon Mark Crocker – says: ‘You can throw it in the wash, drip dry and be ready to go.’
