  • During the event, Samsung is expected to unveil its Galaxy Note 10
  • A dedicated night photography mode is also currently being rolled out in the US

Fans of Samsung smart phones in the U.S. have a lot to look forward to.

According to a recent invite sent to journalists from Samsung, the company will host its next launch event later this summer in New York, where the smart phone giant is expected to unveil its new Galaxy Note 10.

The event, originally reported by CNET last month, will be held at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn on August 7th at 4 pm.

The news coincides with a report that suggests Samsung’s S10 device will come with a night-mode camera option that users will be able to turn on and off as needed.

A picture sent along with the event invite to reporters shows a black stylus hovering above a camera lens.

The imagery has further stoked speculation that Samsung may equip the stylus of its new Note phone with its own camera. A patent for the technology was granted in February.

Other reports have suggested the new Note, often recognized for its larger-than-normal display, may come equipped with a grand total of four rear-facing cameras, and one front-facing camera centered in the display at the top of the phone.

Rumors have also circulated about the phone’s inclusion of a headphone jack — some speculate that the company could do away with its wired headphone port.

What isn’t alluded to in the company’s announcement of the event, however, is Samsung’s plans for its controversial foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold.

After several critical flaws in the phone were discovered in its pre-release stages — many of which cause the phone’s display to bulge and/or break — the device has sat in limbo without an official release date.

WHAT WILL SAMSUNG ANNOUNCE AT ITS NEXT LAUNCH EVENT?

At an event slated to take place in New York this summer, Samsung is expected to unveil its new Galaxy Note 10.

The phone comes equipped with a stylus and is speculated to have at least three rear-facing cameras.

One camera might even be embedded into the phone’s stylus according to rumors.

The event will be held at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn on August 7th at 4 pm.

For Samsung, it’s not all about new Galaxy Note, however.

According to a report from XDADevelopers, the company is currently rolling out a dedicated night photography mode on its Galaxy S10.

While a ‘bright night’ feature that helped illuminate dark images was already built into Samsung’s phones, users were unable to turn the phone on and off and had to rely on the Galaxy’s software to decide when to use it.

The dedicated night mode feature, however, will allow users to turn the feature on and off at will.

The report states that cell carrier AT&T is rolling out the update currently and Verizon may be next to include the update.

A dedicated night mode feature for Samsung’s Galaxy phones was previously on available in markets outside the U.S., after being rolled out in April.
