Studio 10’s Sarah Harris has revealed how her son Paul, two, once locked himself inside a confessional box at church and had to be retrieved by firefighters.
Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday, Sarah, 37, said: ‘He was stuck in there for 10 minutes and by all reports it was like he was channeling Damien from The Omen.
‘He was losing his mind, because he was in this teeny, tiny dark room with no window. They called the firies [fire brigade] and the police to come and break the door down to get him out.’
‘He was freaking out!’ Sarah Harris revealed the moment her 2-year-old son Paul locked himself inside a church confessional box and had to be axed out by firefighters on the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday. Pictured: Sarah with sons Paul (left) and Harry
The confessional is a small cabinet or stall in which the priest in some Christian churches sits to hear the confessions of sinful penitents.
‘Everyone was trying to calm him down and kind of “talk him off the ledge”,’ Sarah explained. ‘They used an axe to break the door down.’
She added: ‘When the firies came and they knocked the door down they were making all these completely inappropriate but hilarious jokes like, “Well this probably the first time anyone has come out of the closet in this place, am I right guys?”‘

She continued: ‘It was right after communion. There were all these slack-jawed gawkers with all these little pieces of wafers in their mouth going, “What’s going on? What’s this commotion at the back?”‘
Sarah claimed that the key to the confessional box had apparently been lost several years ago.
At one point, radio host Kyle Sandilands jokingly asked: ‘How did he [Paul] get in there? What’s he confessing at such a young age?’

‘He was losing his mind, because he was in this teeny, tiny dark room with no window. They called the firies (firefighters) and the police to come and break the door down to get him out,’ Sarah said
‘He was probably confessing all my sins! If I was in there I’d spontaneously combust,’ Sarah replied.
Sarah, who is also mother to eight-month-year-old son Harry, added that she has been criticised over the incident.
‘I’ve already had people ringing up saying I should control my kids and that I’m an absent mother, and if I was home more this wouldn’t happen,’ she said.
