SAS Australia: Sam’s ex Phoebe Burgess shares a powerful message

Phoebe Burgess shares a powerful message after her cheating ex-husband Sam admitted to humiliating her during their four-year marriage

She has maintained a dignified silence since her ex-husband Sam Burgess admitted to ’embarrassing’ her during their marriage by having an affair with another woman.

And while she has yet to acknowledge the NRL player’s mea culpa on SAS Australia, Phoebe Burgess raised her voice for another reason on Wednesday afternoon.

The former journalist, 32, shared an Instagram post announcing she was double-vaccinated against Covid-19 and couldn’t wait to ‘re-enter the world’.

She wrote: ‘Officially fully vaxxed ✌ and very happy about joining this club that I hope becomes the global majority – quickly.

‘I can’t wait to re-enter the world, move freely, drop my kids at school with their unreal and unparalleled teachers (I really can’t pretend to be anywhere near their level much longer).

‘I can’t wait to book in, for a real-life appointment to sort out the hairy parts of my bod. I can’t wait to stop explaining “the virus” to my kids as the reason why they can’t kick a ball with their cousins and hold their aunts.

‘I can’t wait to walk down a street and smile at someone knowing I can’t endanger their health. We’re almost there. Round-two jabs, here we go!’

Phoebe accompanied her post with a gallery of photos of herself posing in a ‘Vaxxed’ cap and singlet.

Her pro-vaccine message comes after her ex-husband Sam, formerly of the South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL team, admitted to ’embarrassing’ her with his infidelity.

Sam, 32, confessed he’d been unfaithful during their four-year marriage while being interrogated by the directing staff on Channel Seven’s SAS Australia.

‘I don’t think I was the greatest husband at times,’ he said. ‘I embarrassed my wife. I’d had an affair with a girl, a woman in Melbourne. That’s true.

‘I was away on tour, and regretfully that happened, which would have been… it would have been a tough place for Phoebe to be.’

In 2018, Sam was embroiled in a sexting scandal which involved a Melbourne woman who claimed he’d cheated on his wife the year prior.

In the aftermath of the scandal, Phoebe, who was then pregnant with the couple’s second child, pulled out of a public appearance but was otherwise supportive of her husband in the weeks that followed.

However, the strain was too much for the Burgesses who ended their marriage shortly after Christmas that year.

They briefly reconciled months later, but called it quits for good in October 2019.
