Saturday Night Live comedians mock Prince William’s hair

The Duke of Cambridge’s new hairstyle has become the subject of much intrigue after its first outing in London last week.

And it seems news of William’s buzz cut hasn’t escaped the notice of comedians across the pond after two actors took a swipe at the balding Prince during a skit on Saturday Night Live.

The popular sketch show featured a segment in which two actors played William and Harry, with the second-in-line to the throne sporting a questionable smattering of patchy stubble.

During the tongue-in-cheek skit, a plummy Prince William (Alex Moffat) and Harry (Mikey Day) deliver an ‘official announcement’ from Buckingham Palace regarding President Trump’s cancelled visit to the UK – which soon descends into chaos as William is mercilessly mocked over his barnet.

While ‘William’ appears to be taking the broadcast seriously, a playful ‘Harry’ can be seen larking about and performing a ‘gnarly’ hand gesture, greeting host Michael Che by saying ‘What’s up, my dawg?’

The redhead royal says: ‘Michael, we’d like to apologise; unfortunately, William’s hair was unable to make it this evening, it’s devastating.’

His brother replies: ‘Oh bravo, hilarious, a bald joke. Well I buzzed the sides this week, rocking the Bruce Wills look, broke the internet.’

But Harry corrects him, pointing out that Bruce Willis is known to shave his entire head – and compares his brother to Cub Your Enthusiasm character Larry David.

The audience can be heard erupting into fits of laughter as William attempts to mock his younger brother’s hair by comparing him to Ron Weasley – but gets the Harry Potter character’s name wrong.

However he gets his own back on mischievous Harry by joking that nobody watches his fiancée Meghan Markle’s show Suits – and that he puts it on the TV when he wants to get Prince George and Princess Charlotte to sleep.

There is further hilarity when the siblings engage in a brotherly handshake while singing ‘Windsor boys, Windsor boys, bangers and mash, hello!’

The conversation soon moves on to Kate, with the brothers claiming her reluctant husband is forced to go shopping with her for hats and handbags ‘four times a week’.

The third-in-line to the throne, whose hairline has been receding for several years, decided to brave the shave ahead of his visit to the Evelina Children’s Hospital on Thursday.
