But on Thursday, Today show host Savannah Guthrie and her colleagues Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford were tossing back the booze as they celebrated the opening of Jimmy Buffet’s Broadway musical Escape to Margaritaville.
The 46-year-old journalist enjoyed the the libations as the cast performed the classic song Volcano on stage in front of the New York City crowd.

The event was apparently pre-taped and will air on Friday’s show, according to Page Six.
The publication also revealed that Jimmy did not join the hosts by indulging in alcoholic beverages – due to being on a strict diet and keeping his ‘margarita-swilling days behind him’.
Savannah has been in the public eye more recently due to former co-anchor Matt Lauer’s fall to disgrace.

On November 29, Savannah announced Matt Lauer’s firing live on air, with the help of co-anchor Hoda Kotb.
NBC executives fired Lauer the night before after they saw a string of lewd messages and explicit photos he sent an intern during the Sochi Olympics, reports suggest.
Kotb has remained by Guthrie’s side since then as the interim co-anchor.
The Australian-born anchor has worked for the NBC network since September of 2007.
