Saweetie and Kehlani watch Winnie Harlow rule the runway at Christian Cowan’s Spring/Summer show

Rapper Saweetie and Kehlani looked chic while sitting front row at Christian Cowan’s Spring/Summer 2022 show, where some of the industry’s most in-demand models like Winnie Harlow walked the runway on Thursday night.

While viewing the New York-based fashion designers’ latest collection, the 28-year-old Best Friend hitmaker looked absolutely glamorous sitting next to stars Amelia Gray, Justine Skye and La La Anthony.

She was dressed in a plunging orange minidress, which bared her toned midriff, matching thigh-high boots with rhinestones all over them and massive pearl statement necklace, which matched the clip in her ponytail.

Meanwhile, Kehlani wore a long black satin coat with distressed denim patches below the waist and sleeves.

Before gracing the catwalk, Harlow, 27, cut a casual figure in a black and white flannel jacket over an all-white ensemble, including a pair of chunky booties, Prada purse and futuristic sunglasses.

After the show, she modeled a number of pieces for Cowan, the former America’s Next Top Model contestant was seen chatting and hugging YouTuber Liza Koshy.

For his new collection, Cowan partnered with Yahoo to ‘incorporated holograms, via scannable QR codes.’

‘It’s a collaboration that would’ve been so cool in any season that we did it. But it makes even more sense now especially in terms of the show, because so many of the attendees that would be coming from Europe or Asia can’t get here. So it’s so wonderful to have a personal experience for them still,’ the designer told Yahoo.

He added: ‘Often the invite is quite cold in terms of it’s just a piece of text really, and this was the way to virtually yet personally invite people and make people part of it.’

‘I think it brings so much magic to it, and something for us that we’ve always looked to do since the beginning of the brand is to find a way to bring our audience sort of backstage at the show even though they can’t be there, but to give them that kind of all-access feel. And this really allows that,’ he continued of his decision.

Open book: As for what inspired his designs, Cowan said: 'It’s an absolute celebration and a calling to everyone to safely enjoy life and nightlife and going out. Celebrate, have a good time, get all eyes on you, get complimented, just feel good about yourself and get out of the house!'

‘And then also I think as a young designer in the scheme of things, I’ve matured as I’ve gone on, and I think at one point where I worried much more about what others thought, I’m very much at a stage where I’m like, ‘I’m doing me and I know my audience will think it’s great,’ he continued.

Cowan also said the collection is ‘very’ him and that ‘there are no external opinions coming in it — it’s wild and fab.’
