Light sabers, dark lords and humanoids were out in force alongside superheroes, time-travelling doctors and even the nightmarish clown from Stephen King’s It as hundreds of fans descended on North Yorkshire for a sci-fi event.
There was no limit to over-the-top costumes and special make-up effects as Sci-Fi Scarborough opened its doors to the public on Saturday, after being held virtually for the last two years.
This year’s line-up includes Doctor Who actor Colin Baker and actress Nicola Bryant, who played his companion, Peri Brown, as well as Star Wars actors Dermot Crowley and David Cheung.
Baker played the Sixth Doctor in the beloved BBC television drama from 1984 to 1986. John Leeson, who provided the voice of robotic dog K-9, and Terry Molloy, who played Davros, the notorious leader of The Daleks, are also making a star appearance.
Fans from far and wide braved the cooler spring weather to turn out in their costumes for the popular comic book convention, which is now in its tenth year.
