Details about the secretive production are few and far between, but the central story is rumored to be set during the space race of the 1960s.

Apple TV+ shelled out more than $100 million earlier this year to acquire the film, which was written by Rose Gilroy, the daughter of writer-filmmaker Dan Gilroy and the actress Rene Russo.

Deadline reported that the decision between Bateman and the film’s production company These Pictures was reached amicably, and that the entities could join forces again if the right project were to arise.
