Schapelle Corby enjoys her freedom as she slips a board back under her arm at the beach – after the convicted drug smuggler celebrated her ninth anniversary out of prison
Schapelle Corby soaked up the hot Gold Coast sun on Sunday as she took to the crashing waves with a surf board under her arm.
She made international headlines when she was arrested at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport in 2004 with 4.2kg of marijuana in her boogie board bag and jailed for nine years.
But the beauty therapist-turned-reality star, 46, enjoyed her freedom on the weekend after celebrating her ninth anniversary out of prison earlier this year.
Flaunting her athletic figure in a black and white bikini, the artist could be seen wading out of the sea in a series of photos she shared to Instagram.
She captioned the happy snaps, ‘Sunday,’ as she turned back to look out over the horizon, letting her dark locks fall in damp waves down her back.

Schapelle was no doubt in a reflective mood after she celebrated her ninth anniversary out of prison in February this year.
At the time, she addressed her release in an emotional video on Instagram.
Schapelle served nine years behind bars after being charged with smuggling drugs into Bali.
‘I felt queasy in my stomach and I felt a kind of regurgitation of trauma just coming in and settling in my stomach and trying to take over my mind,’ she said of the gruelling experience.
She marked the milestone by having a Pina Colada with her mother, going for a swim and giving away one of her custom-made resin clocks to a lucky fan.
‘I want to celebrate the day – because it is a good day – with something that really occupies my mind and has been such a healing process for me,’ she said.

In October 2004, Schapelle became a household name when the then 27-year-old beauty student was arrested at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport with 4.2kg of marijuana in her boogie board bag, a crime she has always denied committing.
Seven months later, the world watched on as Schapelle famously broke down in the courtroom while being sentenced to 20 years in prison.
After a series of sentence reductions, she was released on parole in February 2014 after nine years behind bars.
After three years living in Bali, she was deported back to Australia in 2017 and is now a social media influencer on the Gold Coast.
