A bus caught on fire outside a New Jersey high school just moments after several students had exited the vehicle.
The bus was in the driveway of Middletown High School North when it started smoking around 7.20am Thursday.
Video shows flames engulfing the bus before a small explosion occurred in the engine area.

The Belford Engine Company wrote on Facebook that ‘the fire was quickly brought under control’
‘Station 3 & Station 7 responded to a working bus fire at Middletown High School North this morning. The fire was quickly brought under control,’ the Belford Engine Company wrote on Facebook.
The department shared several photos of firefighters battling the blaze and images of the burned-out bus once the fire was under control.
Authorities said no injuries were reported during the incident.
Students and staff who were already in the school were moved to the rear of the building and remained there until the fire was extinguished.
The bus driver had also exited the bus before the it caught on fire.
Officials said the building’s air quality was also tested before students were allowed to return to class.
The bus was owned by a private carrier who contracts with the district.
Authorities believe a mechanical issue in the bus caused the fire. But the cause remains under investigation.
