Schools are placed on lockdown as police hunt woman after ‘incident’ at a pub

  • Schools in lockdown following an ‘incident’ at Gowrie Road Hotel, Queensland
  • Officers were called to the pub in Toowoomba about 11am on Friday morning
  • Officers went to execute a search warrant in relation to an ‘ongoing matter’

Multiple schools were put into lockdown on Friday afternoon and police are on the hunt for a woman following an ‘incident’ at a Queensland pub.

Officers were called to the Gowrie Road Hotel in Toowoomba, west of Brisbane, about 11am on Friday.

A Queensland police spokesman said police went to the hotel to execute a search warrant in relation to an ‘ongoing matter’.   

‘They have subsequently taken one man into custody,’ the spokesman said.

‘They are looking for a woman in relation to the incident.’

According to The Chronicle, there are a number of schools in the area currently on lockdown.

The schools include St Ursula’s College, St Mary’s College, The Glennie School, Newtown State School and Our Lady of Lourdes.

The Pathways Early Learning Centre is also believed to be in lockdown.

Investigations are continuing.
