Scottish backpacker warns others not to stay at a hostel after a manager sent her creepy texts

A Scottish backpacker has claimed the owner of the hostel she was staying at tried blackmailing her into having sex with his cousin in exchange for a lift home.

Kerri Gray was on a three-month long stay at a hostel in Victoria, where she said ‘abusive’ management rorted her of money and left her feeling ‘vulnerable, intimated, and on edge constantly’.

She claimed there were just three showers shared between 80 people, $10 fines were handed to guests at random, and the ‘creep’ owner ‘intimidated girls’.

Ms Gray said she felt unsafe following a heated confrontation with a manager and cleaner over her check-out time on Wednesday, and has now left for Melbourne.

The 21-year-old filmed part of the explosive conversation and later uploaded it online – the women could be heard arguing in an expletive ridden exchange.

‘You’ve got 15 minutes to get your stuff and get out or I’m calling the cops and they will remove you,’ a woman, believed to be a manager, said.

Ms Gray argued that was not enough time to pack all her things, and had been under the impression she did not have to check out until 5pm that evening.

‘This place is the most f**** up place I’ve ever been, you got (the owner) giving people $10,000 to go and give to randoms…you’ve got him texting people, bribing people to s*** his cousin, everyone’s got evidence of all the s*** youse (sic) have done,’ Ms Gray said.

‘Your boss is literally a creepy pervert, and you’re just as bad.’

A third woman, believed to be a cleaner, intervened, telling Ms Gray to ‘get your s*** and get the f*** out’.

‘Listen to me love, get your shit and get the f*** out you sk**** motherf*****. Get the f*** out now,’ the woman yelled.

Ms Gray also shared a screen grab of what she claimed was a conversation between herself and the owner, where he appeared to tell her to sleep with his cousin.

A text alleged to have come from the owner said she would be picked up on ‘one condition’ – that she, or someone else, had sex with his cousin.

‘My little cousin is coming with me so you have to sleep with him or find someone to do it,’ the message read.

Ms Gray responded, ‘not happening’ followed by ‘not a prostitute lol (sic)’.

A reply then read, ‘ha ha nah a different one’, with Ms Gray notably offended, writing, ‘that’s not even funny’.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the hostel for comment.
